William Owens along with a partner started South Charlotte Properties in order to have a real estate company that focuses on one of the fastest growing areas of Charlotte.
William moved to Charlotte from Richmond Virginia in 1987 due to a transfer with a fortune 500 company. Even though he loved the Richmond area, he equally fell in love with Charlotte, NC.
Originally from Arkansas, William obtained his Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Arkansas. He decided to move east in the mid 80s due to his interest in the area during visits to see a family member attending the University of South Carolina.
When William relocated to Charlotte he found the area to be rich in growth and in 1990 decided to obtain his real estate license and follow the foot steps of his mother who has sold real estate since the late 70s.
William has worked for large real estate companies throughout his career, most notably RE/MAX (where he was a constant 100% top producing agent and listed in the top 100 agents in the Carolinas) and Keller Williams. But found that the large national companies lacked in focusing on the certain areas of the city. Most agents worked all over Charlotte whether it be North, South, East or West. They would work Lake Norman, Lake Wylie, Harrisburg and Monroe. William felt there should a company that services a particular area. A company whose agents can physically manage servicing an area. Hence he started South Charlotte Properties. A real estate company devoted to servicing the area from Dilworth to Waxhaw and from Matthews to Carowinds. If it is in South, Southeast or Southwest Charlotte, we can handle it.
Along with a degree in Business Administration, William holds his CRS, Certified Residential Specialist, ABR, Accredited Buyer Representative, ASR, Accredited Seller Representative and ePRO, Certified in Real Estate Technology designations. William is currently on the CMLS board of directors research tasksforce. William is a licensed Real Estate Broker in North Carolina and South Carolina.
South Charlotte Properties is a member of the National Association of Realtors, North Carolina Association of Realtors, Charlotte Regional Realtor Association and Carolina Multiple Listing Service.
